The hair and makeup looks on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet were nothing if not dramatic, from Zendaya’s all-white Louis Vuitton suit and wide-brimmed hat to Diana Ross’ long feather train and Dua Lipa’s custom-made Chanel dress that was reportedly covered in over 45,000 crystals.

The same could be said for the Met Gala manicures, which also took their inspiration from this year’s theme –“Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” – while the dress code for the event was “Tailored for You.”

That idea of individual tailoring certainly came to life in the sheer range of manicures on show. There were plenty of iterations of minimalist designs, from Sadie Sink and Gabrielle Union’s nude soap nails to pared-back French manicures that let the lavish ensembles do the talking.

But some stars also ensured they were fashionable all the way down to their fingertips, and we guarantee you’ll want to save these manicures to your summer mood board.

As a seven-time Met Gala attendee, Rihanna is a seasoned pro at delivering a head-turning fashion moment on the Met steps. When she first attended in 2007, she went the more classic and glamorous route in a white empire-waist Georges Chakra dress replete with rhinestone embellishments. As the years have progressed, however, her Met Gala looks have only gotten more elaborate and avant-garde.

One of Rihanna’s most famous Met Gala looks to date was back in 2015, when she hit the red carpet in a yellow Guo Pei coat dress featuring an elaborate 16-foot train. In 2018, for “Heavenly Bodies,” she made internet waves in a Maison Margiela papal look. For her most recent appearance, meanwhile, at the 2023 Karl Lagerfeld–themed exhibition, she chose a white Valentino floral cape and gown.

Tonight, however, she and Rocky proved yet again that the Met Gala is their event. Everyone else just comes close.

Expecting her first child, Advani became the first Indian actor to walk the Met steps with her baby bump. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the actor wore a sculptural gown featuring an antique gold breastplate with ghungroos and crystals. “At its core, a gold sculpted breastplate with two hearts – mother and child, connected by an abstract umbilical cord,” says Gupta.

A white satin train with black trim flowed from the back, adding contrast. “When my stylist, Anaita, approached Gaurav to design my look, he created ‘Bravehearts’, a vision that honours the transformative phase I’m stepping into, connecting it beautifully to this year’s dress code, ‘Tailored for You’,” Advani tells Vogue India.

She accessorised the look with several gold rings, bold earrings, and an ear cuff from Outhouse Jewellery and Wrapgame India, paired with a 17-carat pear-shaped diamond piece and 5-carat heart-shaped diamond earrings by Kantilal Chhotalal, which complemented the dress’s gold details. Her pinned-back wavy hair and smoky eye makeup provided the perfect finishing touches.
