Alaya F just paired a plunging silver breastplate with a thigh-high slit skirt on the blue carpet

From gold to hand-painted versions, breastplates have been objects of reclaiming femininity and making a fashion statement for public figures. And last night, Alaya F joined the team for this year’s Vogue Beauty and Wellness Honours, in a set by upcoming artist and designer Charu Bhasin. The top was a silver corset piece created from silver metal with a distressed effect for added texture.

The solid breastplate was paired with an asymmetrical ruched black maxi skirt with a thigh-slit. A pair of black peep-toe stilettos added drama to the look. She kept the makeup nude with softer tones, perfect for a rainy day. The outfit was accessorised with a silver choker and bracelet, revealed by her hair, which was styled straight and kept behind her shoulders.

This isn’t the first time celebrities have relied on structural pieces; Kiara Advani, Sonam Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have also worn these solid plates in their own ways.
